The Gainesville "Red Elephants" High School multi-year reunion on June 12, 2010 at the Gainesville, Georgia Civic Center was spectacular. Guests entering the center passed by a display of four 1960's era cars, restored to showroom condition: 1966 Cadillac convertible, 1965 Pontiac GTO, late 1960's VW Bus, and a 1969 Ford Mach 1 Mustang. After checking-in, the alumnae went to the 2nd floor where dozens of balloons, white linen-draped tables with beautiful red centerpieces, and the stellar band The Jesters performed. GHS classmates from the late 1940's to the 1970's joined together to share memories and fill-in the the details of their lives that they had experienced in the many years since they had last seen one another.
The reunion planning committee and volunteers did a fantastic job of decorating the Civic Center with red and white balloons, class memorabilia in all the reception rooms, classic auto display, delicious foods of all types, and the one "must-have" on the committee's wish list for the reunion party: The Jesters.
